Member Highlight- Mirtha
This month, we shine a light on an incredible member whose journey embodies the very spirit of our community: Mirtha! Since joining us in November, Mirtha hasn't simply walked through the doors, she's burst through them with a determination to reclaim her health. Setting up for success, Mirtha began on her 1x1 personal training journey with Melanie by her side.
When she first began, completing a mile on the treadmill or bike seemed like a distant dream. She would have chest pains and breathlessness, a reminder of the limitations her previous lifestyle had imposed. She would constantly experience back pain and fatigue. But Mirtha can’t be stopped and she was ready to be her best.
Witnessing her progress has been nothing short of inspiring. From barely managing a mile to getting ready to take on her first 5k at her old high school – the very track where running was once a dreaded experience – to increasing her core strength and lifting heavier without pain. Mirtha's transformation is truly remarkable.
But the journey hasn't been solely physical. Mirtha has also made significant improvements in her overall health. Mirtha walks to her training sessions, dedicates time to personal mobility exercises, and has even embraced a nutritious diet, leaving behind unhealthy habits like alcohol consumption.
And the ripple effect doesn't stop there. Mirtha's dedication has inspired her brother-in-law to join her in her journey towards better health, a testament to the powerful impact a single person can have.
